Business Casual Perfection?

I have just achieved the optimal balance between quality, price, fashion and business in one outfit.  At least I think so.  I'll tell anyone interested where I found everything if you'll tell me whether you agree or disagree :)  You can judge the fashion/business balance from the picture, the quality is all Banana Republic or better and here's the prices (all except the scarf and socks more than 50% off retail!):

Shoes $20
Pants $13!
Shirt $10
Sweater $12
Scarf $15
Necklace $5
Socks $2

Total $77!!!

So, who wants to go shopping with me?

The Big Switch

It's April 2010 in Starnberg, Germany and we're starting to get the itch. It was a little early, normally it happens at about the 1 year mark, but this time it was motivated more by our overall direction in life then by a change in housing needs. As Joe put it, we began to feel like we were treading water, our progression in life was stalling in spite of our incredible surroundings. We'd always said our role reversal would be temporary, and we were both feeling the need to move on to new challenges.

While doing his usual browsing of houses for sale Joe discovered that our dream home on our favorite street was for sale, and it was then that we knew it was time to make the big switch. We put in an offer and became first time homeowners a month later. After squeezing in last minute trips to Paris and Venice, we said goodbye to Schulstrasse 3a
and our wonderful friendswith many many tears. Looking through these pictures I am realizing just how much I miss them. There's definitely a hole in my heart. Hopefully we'll have visitors soon! (wink, wink) (And thanks for all the help Baileigh and Kensie!)

Fast forward 6 months and here we are, living in this wonderful house, starting our farm (13 chickens and 2 dogs so far!), Joe has returned to school full time and I'm finally a full time mom to our four little ones. I still help out here and there with the business back in Germany when the kids are asleep, but my days are filled with the joys and craziness of mommyhood. Last week was pretty much the first "real" week where Joe was gone all day, Diego and Eva were in school, and appointments/errands consumed my days. It was as crazy as they come, so much so I started this blog so I can look back and remember how it all started :) Next post will be all about it!
